Agency will be showing at the 2023 Melbourne Design Fair with three displays across the PRESENT, FOCUS and DISCOVERY platforms.

From 18 – 21 May the Melbourne Design Fair will be held at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre and has been curated by the National Gallery of Victoria Department of Contemporary Design and Architecture in collaboration with Melbourne Art Foundation.

As part of this year’s fair, Agency will be highlighting works by the master weavers of Numbulwar Numburindi Arts, a presentation of works by Arrernte man and ceramic artist Alfred Lowe, and soft sculptures transformed into wearable art from Yarrenyty Arltere.

In addition to this, Agency has facilitated the commission of a large-scale weaving from Mualgal artist Paula Savage, who lives on Moa Island in Zendath Kes (Torres Strait) to be displayed at the Fair.

Across the weekend, Agency will also be presenting floor talks and tours with Leila Gurruwiwi, Agency’s Public Programs Manager, alongside Matt Poll, Manager Indigenous Programs at the National Maritime Museum. Times and locations will vary and confirmed closer to the date.
